So my dear 4 legged buddy is sick- he tore/partially tore his cruciate ligament on his right leg. We are trying to do everything for him to be comfortable and help the healing process. I have moved my sleeping arrangements to the floor to keep him company. Expect lots of dog sketches.
In other news :
I am wrapping up my folktale project with the Leather Engraving Exhibit which will be happening in early October in Klimat Lounge in East Village. Ten of my woks will be recreated on stretched leather. More details on this soon but in the mean time, here is my Project Statement:
Folk Tales - The Realm of Hidden Self

No matter where we grow up, folktales, myths and legends has always been a part of our development as a child. These stories inject and communicate an early understanding of humanity and morals, stimulate our imagination and tap into the hidden alleys of our inner selves. The fantastical and imaginary world of tales allows us to implement our dreams and subconscious mind in an new and surprising way by freeing our psyche from the restrictions of reality. Tales give us a new meaning of self and what we aspire to become. This series is inspired by the Nordic, Slavic and Asian folklore, alluding to the elusive perception of self within the dimensions of our physical world.
P.S. I can't thank enough my other half for all the help and support he has given me through out the year and especially in the last couple of months. Buzzing propeller, I couldn't do it without you :)
