So in the light of going back to school i have started practicing gesture drawings to be the best in class come September, he-he. There are great websites with timed figure models, so one can do 1 minute, 2 minute and 5 minute poses. It is like being in class but in front of your computer, listening to your music and wearing pajamas.
It is amazing how quickly you loose the ability to grasp the figure in just a few strokes. I was quite taken a back by my first attempts but figured persistence is key. Plus i was enjoying myself way too much using charcoal which i haven't touched since sophomore year. So now it is my daily exercise. Figured eyes and hands are muscles and muscles need training( have to remember to do regular exercise though :)).
So using charcoal and my extensive movie "watching" while working got me to do these two scenes.
If anyone is interested in purchasing a small but original work of art by yours truly, let me know :)
