I have to apologize for my two slip ups- missed two posts.
School and an internship have been very intense and I am still adjusting to the work load. I hope not to repeat my mistake- :)

Ah, the never ending characters of the Renaissance Fair. I will never grow tired if them. I wonder if the costumes transform the faces or the faces help the costumes look more authentic, erasing the boundary of time. Regardless of who or what is responsible for the magic, i am glad i have this little oasis to escape to for the next month.
Two more trips!
A perfect little shady spot to rest thy feet and sketch while enjoying an Oktoberfest/Cider mix.... Stephen Gardner comes to mind - he would enjoy it here! If only i could do the work he does some day....
Once again Rens Fair- you don't disappoint.
And once again Renaissance Fair!
This time around i tried to capture the scenery rather than people. There is something mesmerizing about the shadows and the speckles of light that brake through the thick foliage of the trees... ever changing, never still, they swirl in a dance with each whisper of the wind.
Just another quick sketch from Rens Fair featuring Robin Hood's team and their ladies.
Overdose of handsomeness.
This place has a special place in my heart.... It used to be a bit of tradition with my significant other to go on the first and the last weekends of the Renaissance Fair. This tradition was long ago abandoned. This passed weekend was my first time back and first time going alone. And i have to say... i very much enjoyed it.
When you walk the fair with friends or family you look and experience it from the outside. Going alone with my sketchbook gave me a chance to capture moments that other wise would have gone unnoticed and forever lost. I got a chance to peak form inside out. I got a chance candidly observe the participants
. And the greatest thing - you make friends! The monk i was sketching ended being a wonderful human being named Bob, whose entire family works at the fair every year and the fair became a place where they catch up. He shared his family's accomplishments, gave me a mini muffin and suggested to audition next year. I had a "Barbarian" , later known as Jim, take a picture of me sketching other barbarians alike. I met a very energetic potter Jonathan who admitted to me that his passion and outlet other than pottery is sketching and doing it for a living. The 6 hours flew by quickly and i wished i didn't have to leave. There is still so much to sketch and so many characters to meet.
I think i will be back here soon enough.
